Funny child!

Lily in her kitchen. She is always playing with her stuffed animals, kissing them, hiding them in the drawer and the oven, trying to cram them in spaces that are way to small for them... she loves all her little guys!

Lily's new favorite thing is to put objects on her head and crawl around. She crawled around with her blankie on her head for about 30 minutes yesterday. She would cover her face and crawl blindly into the cabinets in the kitchen....she thought it was so funny!

My View

View from my front door.
Zoomed in so you can see a couple of the deer... look hard its kind of like trying to find the Sasquatch on the Kokanee bottle! :)
I love my view from my house... in fact I probably wouldn't be such a home-body if it was not so freaking spectacular!!!! Normally I am a bird watcher from inside these winter days... I have seen tons of Hawks, every small bird imaginable including dozens of Robins eating worms out of my yard, Quail (they even walk up to the sliding glass door- only when Pat is at work- they are smart), and once I even had a vulture in my back yard(I had to call Pat at work and ask him what kind of HUGE bird looked like it was wearing leg warmers) I have also seen ground hogs, yellow bellied marmots, blue tailed lizards, frogs, bunnies (some of which I had my hired killer take care of so they would stop eating the vegetables out of my garden), wild dogs that pull dirty diapers out of my garbage, snakes, and so many insects its insane.

BUT.... today I saw a deer in the orchard across the street. I had to call Pat so that I could find the binoculars and check it out. Now an hour later I have noticed that there are about 12 deer across the street from me just hanging out, not in a hurry, walking, eating old apples, laying down, sticking around! I LOVE it!

2008 with the Shirey Family

A walk in Cowiche Canyon... it was a little too cold for Lily but it was beautiful. We decided we needed to warm up so we went to visit the new Winery on Naches Heights. It is a fantastic place, great wine, super nice people. Lily crawled around while Pat and I chatted with the people who run the place and tasted wine.

We have a little carnivore on our hands.... Lily loves chicken and was soooo happy when I finally just let her have this chicken leg. She chewed the meat off of it for about a half hour before she got tired of it!

CHRISTMAS GIFTS!!!!

Eating a huckleberry muffin

Christmas with Lily!!! It took her an hour to open her stocking... so we decided we would have to help her with her gifts or we would have been here a week! Uncle Grant gave her the ultimate gift... this fantastic sled... she loves it!!! As you can see from the pictures it was a toss up who enjoyed the first ride more- Grant or Lily! It was a great day!

BUT the best part of Christmas for me was Christmas Eve Lily learned to CRAWL!!!!! I got a picture of it today! She did it once and has got it now. I am laughing... she is now getting into all of these things and going all places that Harper has been for a while. Good thing I had him to train me since she went from stationary to totally mobile in ONE DAY! She seems to be very happy with the fact that she can explore. I finally stopped crying each time she crawled when she had done it about a dozen times. She is now digging though her diaper bag! I have to do some baby proofing today!

Movement

Things have been changing around here lately.... Lily (in the last month) has started sleeping 11 hours at night, figured out how to scoot backwards and spin around (quickly), pull herself forward while sitting, and do the funniest "splits" version of getting from her stomach to sitting. She does all of these things in a very unique way but she is moving! SO I have had to learn what it is like to have a mobile child.... she can get places - like this cabinet! :) She sat here and pulled EVERY thing out from the bottom shelf.

Christmas with the kids

Lily in her sweet Christmas dress from Meme

Lily and Harper in their Christmas pants that Nana made!

Harper and Lily Together

Wednesdays are "Harper Days" and Lily and I love the time with him. The other day we went to Harper's house. He showed Lily his new sled and crawled in and out and in and out. Lily wanted in that thing so darn bad but could not get in by herself.... Harper kept trying to show her how! So I put her in the sled and oh boy she was excited and Harper was even nice enough to let her sit in it all by herself for a few seconds!

They are so fun together!!!

Christmas Time Is HERE!!!!

We could not go out to the woods to get our tree this year... the roads and weather did not cooperate. So Pat went and purchased a tree from one of the local schools. The tree is soooo beautiful!
Lily sat on the floor and watched us decorate the entire tree and played in a box of ribbons and even tried to open some of the presents!!!!
